Shore Amusement Apparatus Company circa 1906 (New York)
Product Description
Shore Amusement Apparatus Company stock certificate circa 1906 (New York)
Uncommon amusement company stock cert printed with a very nice Lady Liberty vignette to the left. Unissued and not cancelled. Circa 1906 from company records. Dated 190_.
Incorporated 1906 in New York, the company had offices at 209 Nassau Ave in Brooklyn. Also known as the Sea Shore Amusement Apparatus Co, the business built an amusement ride which they wanted to produce and distribute. The advertising for investors highlighted exclusive rights to manufacture, operate, and lease an amusement structure which would combine the merits of three rides - scenic railway, carousels, and air ship swings. The patent, if it existed, was not listed under their company name so it is unknown what it was or if it was successful
From the investment ad: "It is needless to discuss how the vast sea-side resort crowds are relieved of their spare money, save for the fact that most goes for fares on (rides) which clear $800 per day."
