In 1999, E-Stamp was the first PC Postage service approved by the U.S. Postal Service, but phased out of the business in late 2000. E-Stamp's postage system used a hardware key that acted as a vault to store paid postage so that stamps could be printed offline. E-Stamp's "e-stamp" trademark was later acquired by Stamps.com.
In 2001, Learn2.com Inc. needs a cash infusion, and E-Stamp Corp. needs an exit strategy for an unprofitable business. In an attempt to meet those needs, the two e-commerce companies. The company name changed to Learn2 Corp in 2001, then LTWC Corp in 2002. LTWC went bankrupt in 2004.
