With an IPO in 2000, E-centives Inc., was an internet marketing company based in Maryland and created custom digital certificates which contained and communicated promotions, discounts, or awards, or other motivational or loyalty programs disseminated via a global information network.  They distributed marketing information for others via a global information network; creation, distribution and redemption of electronic incentives for others, namely promotions, discounts, or rewards to promote the sale of products and services of others disseminated via a global information network; collection, management and redemption of electronic incentives for others disseminated via a global information network; provision of direct marketing services over the internet for others.

E-Centives was out of business by 2003. The company now operates under the name Invenda.
