As was typical of Western companies of the day, investment monies came from the East and New York City. The Colorado Investment Company was incorporated in New York. It owned the Denver Colorado water irrigation operations and the Sovereign Mining gold company in Colorado. The Sovereign Mining Company owned mining claims in Colorado of which 660 acres were filed from 1887 to 1904. The company also sold investment opportunities in Boise ID through newspaper ads.
